We had a very nice big crowd again last month with visitors from as far away as Crestview, FL in the panhandle, Jacksonville, FL, Palm Coast, FL and Syracuse, N.Y.
Many people stayed until the very end dancing joyously.
The lesson and pamphlet on Floor Craft and Etiquette were very well received. Some of the key points re-enforced were: don’t cut across the dance floor after a song has already started. Once you are in a lane, stay in that lane, don’t pass the couple in front of you. If you move to an inside lane, stay there. Don’t zig-zag between lanes. Keep your choreography in one lane so as not to cause collisions. Keep equal ‘air space’ between you and the couple in front of and behind you to keep the Line of Dance moving nicely. Before entering the dance floor, catch the eye of the approaching leader and get his/her nod to enter the line, rather than just jumping in anywhere and causing a disruption in the flow of the line. And for the most part, the flow of dancing was quite nicely maintained throughout the night, as it generally is here. We are grateful as always for all the careful attention of the dancers to observe these codes of common sense that have evolved over many years in the crowded dance halls of Buenos Aires.
This month, there will be no lesson, just 4 hours of nonstop music so you can get your fix of Tango the weekend!
