Save the Date for Oscar Mandagaran & Georgina Vargas in Gainesville Jan 9-10, 2016
3 Workshops, 1 Milonga + Show
Save the 2nd weekend to start off the new year 2016 for Tango with Oscar Mandagaran & Georgina Vargas from Buenos Aires!
We are social tango dancers and also show tango dancers. The style we teach is the Buenos Aires style, the authentic way to dance in a Buenos Aires milonga.
After so many years of dancing and teaching, we have developed our artistic aspect on the stage, as well the social dance for dance in a milonga, and also the teaching aspect to give to all our students the possibility to really build their dance, understand and use their energy, and for that we have a very precise didactic method.
In our lessons we concentrate on posture, the embrace, elegance, musicality, energy, sensuality and the feeling of the tango, those qualities that every true tango dancer has learned to love and appreciate. We teach compact patterns and sequences which are suitable for social dancing and also for dancing on a crowded dance floor.
We always introduce the step to be worked on by showing it, to give to the student a visual demonstration of the ideal movement, by explaining the technique. This way the student can easily understand how to use his body to realize the movement that creates the step, and also we pass by the students giving them individual instructions where we try it with them so they can feel directly from our body the right way to realize the step, and they can reproduce the ideal movement and sensation by following us. It is not necessary to come with a partner as we encourage the rotation of partners throughout the class but with respect of course for couples that came together.
Elegant, passionate, enthusiastic, charismatic — Oscar & Georgina will share their love and knowledge of Tango with us. They have a very detailed pedagogy of Tango so come with a wide open mind and be sure to bring your video cameras for the helpful workshop summaries.
